Last weekend was indeed a memorable one for Abuja’s finest diva Godiya Dangana popularly called “Gdia” as family, friends and well wishers gathered to celebrate her on the launch of her second album. Present at the Event where the likes of Solomon Lange, E-Daniels, Prosper Tyteman, Stevewillis, Team Give Us The Chance, WYN Crew and a host of many others. After the event a colleague from NaijaGospel Beatz in Abuja caught up with her and here is an excerpt of the interview and also find pictures of the event below.

NaijagospelBeats: May we meet You

Gdia: My name is Godiya Dangana (Gdia). Proudly gbagyi. I am a native of Niger state and a student of Nasarawa state university keffi.

Naijagospelbeats: When did you start music?
Gdia: Music for me started at a very tender age. I will say I grew up singing and at a point I felt the urge to do more was much and at age 15 I dropped an album and followed up with a video at 19.

NaijagospelBeats: Tell us about your first album
Gdia: Lol..The album was good but  you know I was inexperienced, it was just funny (lol). I released it because I had a burning passion to and I did. It made me stood out among my peers. I can assure you a lot has changed and there is  more improvement on the album I just dropped.

NaijagospelBeats: Tell us about the Album?
Gdia: I wanted to title the album Awetu which means HOPE because  I wrote the song out of experience. The album is a product of experience. I didn’t title it Awetu because it sounds like am still hopeful, he has done so much and still love me even more than I thought that’s why I titled it Mai ceto.

Naijagospelbeats: What will you say is a major challenge for you in the industy?

Gdia: The challenge I have always had is meeting people and coping with them with lack of sincerity that exists amongst men. You really don’t know who is a good friend willing to buy into your passion and a lot of issues I may not be able to talk about here. I feel God allowed pass through those challenges to write songs that will heal and bless someone.

NaijagospelBeats: What was your parents reaction venturing into music?
Gdia: My parents are my number one fan. And my church too gave me all the support I needed in pursuing my talent.

NaijagospelBeats: What’s your advice for upcoming artist?
Gdia: Every up and coming artist should stay cool (Kill pride). Humility is key to climbing the ladder.

Naijagospelbeats: What’s your favorite meal?
Gdia: Wow, don’t tell anyone, My favorite food is Eba served with Egusi.

Naijagospelbeats: You favorite exercise
Gdia: I love dancing.

MUSIC: PSALMOS | AGAME (I GIVE) & MO GBAGBO (I BELIEVE)

Psalmos the Ku'se crooner has over the years not stopped at expressing her faith in God through her music. The international female gospel artiste with the mission to spread the gospel is out with two singles Both songs are from the stables of Talking Beats Records produced by Dekunle Oniyo. One of the songs is in Igbo language while the other is in Yoruba language.

Why bring out two singles at the same time? This is what She has to say:

What is the story behind the song Agame?
Agame is an Igbo song. I am a lover of Nigerian language. Though so many people know me to be a Yoruba speaking artiste. So am just trying to let everyone know that I am a proper Nigerian, I can do songs in other languages.

Agame is an old song an igbo person taught me when I was young. Just as I remixed Ku'se, that's what I did with Agame, its a remix of an igbo song I love.

Another thing that attracted me to the song is the meaning - I give you my all. It was easy for me to express myself through the song.

What's the story behind Moo gba gbo?
Moo gba gbo means I believe. Its a song of faith that keeps you going against all odds. I am highly inspired by the song and it has helped me alot. Thats why i decided to share it with everyone in anticipation of my forth coming album.

I featured Beejay Sax, Label and Pelumi Songs.

Bringing out the two songs is because the message behind both songs are powerful, inspiring and go hand in hand.

I believe (moo gba bgo) in God and am giving my all (agame) to God.

February 10 was the day I lost my dad… so sad… so mad . a young undergraduate .. over my music we had a big fight. We didn’t take it light. SO TILL THE DAY HE DIED WE DIDN’T RECONCILE. I DIDN’T GET TE CHANCE TO SAY MY LAST GOODBYE.
This anger purifird me till I realized there are things I will NEVER DO. Though life is hard and cruel but when I see you running you should know I am running too but when I bend and tie my shoes. The things I am running to are too complicated for the mind. INVICIBLE.
His royal highness Oba Prof Ololade Folayan share the same birthday as Nigeria. Oct 1st. Salama NIGERIA (PEACE NIGERIA) FT Solomon Lange. I celebrate the 2 key ingrediants that make me unique. My Father and my Country.

Munachi who released “Onye Na Dum Ije” in May 2014 is still in the process of releasing the Psalm13SiX album. He drops 2 new singles – “Chimsom” & “Authority” – off the soon to be released “Justified” Mixtape which will be available for free download and will precede the album.
“Chimsom” is a street. The chant of “Chimsom” that echoes throughout the song and the sampled Hip Hop tune reinstates one’s confidence in God while subtly implying that you can be Christian, hip and ‘cool’. “Authority” is a Techno-Pop fusion and also a praise song. It depicts the writers state of mind and revelation in the knowledge of God. Both tracks are sure to become top on most playlist and every DJs’ delight.
Chimsom was produced by Munachi & El Gozzy (@elgozzyprod) while Authority was produced by Regis.
